High school students were able to enjoy a "Lazy on the Lawn" event yesterday as the last incentive activity for the year. Students had to have no missing assignments, no D's or F's, no unexcused absences, and no behavioral referrals in order to participate! We had 36 students participate in the event that included a sundae bar and yard games. A big THANK YOU to Pontiac Dairy Queen for donating all the ice cream cups! It was delicious!

JH Family Reunion Day

1st and 2nd field trip to Ropp Jersey Cheese Farm! We learned about how they make cheese and produce other dairy products to sell. Afterwards, we spent some time playing at the park!

Agriculture students have been busy this week helping plant flowers around town and in the school garden! They planted extra plants from the greenhouse at the village signs and Legion lake and helped plant at the park too! We love giving back to our community!

This is great, Piper!

We got our hands a little dirty today! Elementary students each got a turn planting in the school garden. Every student planted a marigold with the help of some FFA members and then they also planted vegetables, flowers, and some herbs. A BIG thank you to Mrs. Montgomery for all her work planning and maintaining the garden! Also thank you to the Master Gardeners that helped throughout the day too!

Mrs. Harms invited some special guests to talk to her class about the country of Germany. Her daughter, Kortney Harms, along with Benjamin Reiser, both students at Clarke University and members of the volleyball teams, came to share photos, information, geography, culture, and the German language with the class. Benni's home is Munich, Germany. 🇩🇪 The students enjoyed learning how to count to 10 in German, too! We learned a lot!

Congratulations to Ryder R. for reaching 50 points in AR, and Reese V. for reaching 100 points, both earning "Pizza with the Principal" today! 🍕

The fourth grade classes participated in the Butterfly Program again this year through the University of Illinois Extension office. (Thanks, Emily B.) After raising them into adult Painted Lady butterflies, and witnessing each stage of their life cycle in our classrooms, they were released into nature today! 🐛🦋
