Career Fair Edition of LACC's Friday Feature
Flanagan-Cornell High School is proud to offer future planning events for all high school students during Flex. These events (presentations, activities, workshops, and more) are designed to help students learn about and explore options for the future. Check out what is happening in November and encourage your student to attend!

On Tuesday, Mr. Holt’s “Film as Literature” class ventured to the Peoria Riverfront Museum for a private screening of Alfred Hitchcock’s thriller film Psycho! Students had spent the previous week analyzing other Hitchcock films in order to draw thematic and formal connections between them. The rest of the week, we’ll take a deep dive into specific scenes in Psycho and how the director uses elements like sound, time, and cinematography to create tension… Plus, we had popcorn, so a good time was had by all!

The fourth grade students began their "Soil Your Undies" Challenge on Friday. This experiment from Illinois Ag in the Classroom teaches us how soil is NOT just dirt! We buried two pair of new, white undies and will dig them up at different intervals to see what they look like over time, all while learning about soil! Thanks to Mrs. Chipman and the FFA students for their help! 🪴🪱

Students in Advanced Horticulture have been busy this week designing their first floral arrangement for their monthly subscription customers. They started by carving real pumpkins and scraping them clean and then came the fun part of designing the arrangements. They turned out beautifully!

Congrats to our Lady Falcons 7th & 8th Grade Teams for both being 2025 Livingston County Champs!
Today was the 1st Quarter Incentive Activity for high school students. Students had to have no missing assignments, no unexcused absences, no behavior referrals, and no D's or F's to attend. Students participated in a pickleball tournament and enjoyed some snacks! Congrats to Josie and Lani for being the Pickleball Champs!

Our Falcons were fired up today for another round of friendly competition! Teams went head-to-head in the Hula Hut Challenge, racing to build, crawl, and conquer their way to victory. It was a tough one — but every team showed amazing teamwork, perseverance, and Falcon PRIDE from start to finish! 💪🔥

🥈 2nd Place: Captain Accountability (1st & 6th) – 20 points
🥉 3rd Place: Positive Force (K & 7th) – 15 points

Yesterday our FFA members hosted a Mini Ag Expo for all Kindergarten through 4th grade students! Students participated in 8 different stations including Corn Jeopardy, Oink-O, Leaf Impressions, Pumpkin life cycle bracelets, a tour of the greenhouse, Cattle Byproducts, Water Jeopardy, and getting to get into a combine. It was a great morning and we are very proud of our FFA members that planned and executed the activity and hope the elementary students learned a little more about agriculture! We hope this becomes a yearly event!
